AEi Systems Releases Power IC Model Library for Cadence PSpice 4.5

Adds SIC & Germanium Diodes, IGBTs, References & Regulators, Opamps, and more; Now over 1700 Models

AEi Systems, the world leader in worst case circuit analysis ('WCCA') and SPICE modeling, has released version 4.5 of AEi Systems' Power IC Model Library for the Cadence® PSpice® simulator. In addition to several key Power ICs, the updated library includes a variety of new models including many semiconductors (diodes, IGBTs, FETs, BJTs, and zeners), references and regulators, beads, capacitors and more. Version 4.5 of the Power IC Model Library now has over 1,700 high fidelity and correlated simulation models for power electronic designs. It includes model netlists in PSpice syntax, schematic symbols for both Cadence OrCAD® Capture and legacy schematics, and a set of example application circuits for many of the IC models. The models are compatible with the latest OrCAD Capture version 17.x software.

Adds EMC Transient Sources for Automotive WCCA

"This update marks a milestone in our efforts to support automotive worst case analysis. Over the last few years we have seen a tremendous growth in the performance of WCCA by OEMs and all tiers in the supply chain. A substantial amount of effort was employed to develop these models which have supported the analysis we do for our automotive WCCA customers. And now those performing their own WCCA can take advantage."

The sources encompass the Ford FMC1278, ISO 7637-2, and ISO 16750-2 standards for electromagnetic compatibility and environmental conditions for electrical and electronic components and subsystems. The sources are used as stimulus and loading in nominal and worst case simulations covering the potential environmental stresses and specifies tests and requirements required by Ford WCCA guidelines.

AEi Systems Gives Papers on Migrating from Si to GaN and Power Integrity Lessons Learned at Space Power Workshop

Charles Hymowitz will be presenting a paper on Lessons Learned about Power Integrity. Power Integrity is driving design performance. Most designers and programs have not realized they need to have a Power Integrity plan before the design is set. With each new generation of high speed digital and RF chips and circuitry, designs are expected to perform at higher frequencies while the supply voltages are being reduced to meet new power efficiency goals.
